The rules, in plain English.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and TruePath Finance Inc. ("TruePath", "we", "us"), the Canadian company behind the retirement planning service at truepathfinance.ca and app.truepathfinance.ca (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, starting a trial or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
• You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it current.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
• An account is for you and, where the plan covers a household, your spouse or partner. Do not share your login with anyone else or resell access.
• If you enter information about a spouse, partner or anyone else, you confirm that you have their consent or other lawful authority to provide it to us for use in the Service.

You can cancel at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.

Because we offer a 14-day free trial so you can evaluate TruePath before paying, we generally do not provide refunds for fees already charged for a billing period. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law, including any right to cancel or to a refund that your provincial consumer protection law gives you.

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Break the law, or use TruePath to provide regulated financial, tax or legal advice to others.
• Copy, scrape, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the Service or its content.
• Interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts.
• Upload anything malicious, or anyone else's personal information without their consent.
• Misrepresent TruePath output as professional advice from us.
• Try to manipulate AI features to bypass their safeguards or to get information about other users.

We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken.

Ask TruePath and other AI-assisted features generate plain-English responses using your plan context and a third-party AI model.

• AI responses can be incomplete or wrong, and are educational information, not advice.
• Do not rely on an AI response alone for a financial, tax or legal decision.
• Do not enter your Social Insurance Number, account numbers, passwords or other identifiers into Ask TruePath or voice input. It does not need them.
• Ask TruePath explains and summarizes figures produced by the Service's calculations. If an AI response conflicts with a figure shown elsewhere in your plan, rely on the figure in your plan, not the AI response.
• How AI providers handle the data we send is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your data to train any TruePath model.

This is important enough to say on its own. TruePath provides general educational information and modelling tools. It does not provide investment, financial, tax, accounting or legal advice, and it does not recommend any specific product, security or course of action.

Projections rely on assumptions and on rules (including CPP, OAS, RRSP, TFSA and RRIF rules) that can change and that we may not apply perfectly to your circumstances. Before acting, confirm the details with a licensed professional qualified in your province, such as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or a tax advisor.

Projections are estimates, not guarantees of future results. Actual outcomes may differ materially because of investment returns, inflation, tax rates, government benefit rules, how long you live, employment income, spending, interest rates, property values and other circumstances. A plan health score or an "on track" result describes the plan based on what you entered and our assumptions. It is not a promise that your retirement will work out as shown.

Tax calculations, including income tax, pension income splitting, the OAS recovery tax, RRSP and RRIF withdrawals and estate taxes, are estimates for planning purposes only. TruePath does not prepare or file tax returns. Do not use its calculations to prepare a tax return or as a substitute for professional tax advice.

The Service is designed for planning ahead. Do not rely on it for a decision that must be made immediately without independently checking the details.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TruePath Finance Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, or from any decision you make based on it.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service is no longer reasonable.

If your subscription has ended and your account stays inactive for a long period, we may delete the account and its data after giving you notice, as described in our Privacy Policy.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnification) continue to apply.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages or changes at cloud hosting, authentication, payment, AI or telecommunications providers, internet failures, cyberattacks, government action, labour disputes, pandemics and natural disasters.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alberta, Canada, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
